Emily is a large green Stirling Single who first appeared in the seventh season episode "Emily's New Coaches". The other engines ignored her for pulling Annie and Clarabel without permission, and Thomas was furious too. The matter was resolved after she saved both Thomas and Oliver from a nasty accident on the cross-points, and she was rewarded with two new coaches, Martha and Jennifer.
Emily is one of the few female engines on the North Western Railway, and has been made part of the "Steam Team". She is #81 on the North Western Railway.
Emily acts as a sisterly figure to the others, but can get into trouble or be fussy.
Her closest friends are her coaches Martha and Jennifer. She is also good friends with Molly, Daisy, Mavis, Rosie and her boy friend and love interest Thomas.
Emily is based on GNR Stirling Single.
