Trivia

  • An instrumental version of Auld Lang Syne can be heard at the end of this episode.
  • This is the first episode in the series to be New Year's themed.
  • When Thomas was shunting the express coaches at platform 1 during Gordon and Spencer's conversation about the importance of numbers, a bump sound effect used from Seasons 4-7 can be heard.
  • This is the first episode where Spencer is seen with a snowplough.
  • In the UK version, while Gordon is laughing at Philip, he says "68." This line is not present in the US  version.
    • This could also be a reference to Philip's Number, as Gordon makes fun of Philip for being number 68.

Goofs

  • When Philip leaves Spencer's coaches with Gordon, the buffers of the coaches and Gordon's tender do not actually touch each other, but they still make a sound and can be seen moving.
  • William Hope and Kerry Shale are credited in the UK end credits despite none of their characters speaking.
