Michael Brandon, born on April the 20th, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, is an American actor who has narrated every season since the seventh of Thomas and Friends for American audiences. He also narrated Calling All Engines!, On Site With Thomas and Engines and Escapades, and redubbed four episodes from the New Friends for Thomas and Other Adventures VHS and DVD with Robert Hartshorne's music on PBS Kids Sprout. He also provides the voices of Mr. Bubbles, Diesel, and the Maithwaite and Knapford Stationmasters in the US version of the CGI series.

He currently holds the record as the longest running narrator for the US and second overall.

Brandon has appeared in other television shows and movies such as "Dempsey and Makepeace", "The Nanny", "Dinotopia", "Are You Ready for Love?", "The Division", "Ally McBeal", "The Catherine Tate Show", "Murder She Wrote", "New Tricks", "Try This One for Size", and "Doctor Who". He also starred in the 2011 film, "Captain America: The First Avenger" alongside William Hope and Martin Sherman.

He was first married to Lindsay Wagner. He later married "Dempsey and Makepeace" co-star Glynis Barber, best known for her role in "EastEnders".
