I've decided to start a new once a month blog series called "Recaps". I got the idea from a previous blog post of mine. These blog posts will be you're one stop place for catching up on all of the latest news on Thomas and Friends and the Railway Series.
For the most recent news, Day of the Diesels, the highly anticipated 2011 special, has been released in most English speaking countries. Some of the major characters introduced in this special were Den, Dart, Belle, and Flynn. These characters were meant to debut in DOTD, but were in Season 15, which aired early this year. The fifteenth season takes place after the events of Day of the Diesels, but was brought ahead for unknown reasons. For those who missed the latest season, you're in luck. Two new DVD's each featuring four episodes from the Season 15 will be released this year. The first, which will be released next month, is Merry Christmas, Thomas! The next one, Rescue On the Rails will be released in December 2011.
We also have a new box set to look forward to, Adventure on the Tracks. Included are 6 DVD's from both the Britt Allcroft Era and the HiT Entertainment model series. It will be released in December of this year.
For those hungry for new episodes of you're favorite railway engines, the sixteenth series of Thomas and Friends is right around the corner. Nitrogen Studios has confirmed they are wrapping up the animation for this season. You can look forward to the narrow gauge engine's return in CGI , and a new writing style has been confirmed to kick in around the second half of the season. The new batch of episodes will air late 2011/early 2012.
