Toby's Surprise is a board book. It was renamed A Surprise for Toby in the Dutch title.
Plot
All of the other engines are given jobs to do for the day. However Toby is the only one who wasn't given a job, but once he went back to his shed he had to collect workmen and take them to Great Waterton. While collecting the workmen, Toby felt like his friends were given special jobs because each of them were able to find something special, so Toby decides that he wants to find something special so he can get the same jobs as his friends do. However Toby was unable to find anything that was special, until he managed to find an old piece of metal and it was revealed to be an old sign that said: Sodor Tramways, which made Toby feel very special.
