The learning segments, also known as Learn with Thomas, were small educational videos which usually appeared between episodes on eighth to twelfth series DVDs and in Nick Jr. and PBS Kids half-hour television airings. The segments often feature animation by Gizmo Animation Limited and a few feature live-action ones. They were written by Paul Larson, Ross Hastings, Marc Seal and Sharon Miller. The animated segments were made in Autodesk 3DS Max.
