“Why are you here, creaky! I'm surprised that an engine as old as you is still working!”
― Diesel

Henry and Diesel is a magazine story.

Plot

Henry is one of Sodor's oldest engines. Diesel is often rude to him about this which makes Henry very upset.

One day at the harbour, Diesel is being as rude as ever to Henry by calling him "Creaky" and how he is only fit for scrap. Henry tries to get back at Diesel but Percy says to pay him no mind.

Later in the afternoon, the stationmaster at the harbour informs Henry that Diesel has had an accident. Henry is reluctant to go and help but he eventually brings a crane to Diesel's crash site. Diesel is surprised to see Henry helping him but he is put back on the tracks in no time. Henry starts to leave before the crane arm is properly secured and it ends up hitting Diesel. Diesel shouts that Henry did that on purpose but Henry thinks to himself that Diesel deserved it.
