My following biography is incomplete, you may want to wait and read it when I'm done. ZEM talk to me! 22:49, November 17, 2009

Yes, I am planning on updating this at some point in the near future... ZEM talk to me! 22:25, January 17, 2010 (UTC)

Who I Am and What I Do

My username is ZEM because those letters are my initials. I have been a fan of Thomas the Tank Engine since I was 2 years old. Now, at 16 years old, have a huge collection of Thomas merchandising. Most of my collection is of older stuff, and I don't really have much of the newer stuff.

I have half or more of the US VHS and DVD releases, even though the VHS ones are of little use to me now. I did have the honor of having
Callum Walker, of Sodor Island 3D fame, ask for scans of the back covers of the older ones for his YouTube, so they did come in handy there.

I have a few extremely interesting pieces in my collection, including: Learning Curve Wooden Ada, Jane and Mabel, a first edition copy of Oliver the Western Engine and an award from Learning Curve to their most successful Thomas retailers, all of which I got off of eBay.

My collection started with the VHS, "Thomas Gets Tricked" and a whole load of ERTL diecast Thomas characters. I get my memories of my second and third birthdays confused so I'm not sure exactly when I got what, but I know that I got "Thomas Gets Tricked" first. One of the reasons I like Thomas so much is because it is a good, clean show with steam engines. I don't watch cable TV, so I always waited until the VHS tapes would be released and I would spot them in the stores and beg my parents for them.

Also, when I was younger, I was under the the impression that I was the ONLY Thomas fan over like 2 or 3 years old. This was mostly due to the fact that my cousins made a lot of fun of my interest in Thomas. Another interesting thing, my Dad thought some of the accidents portrayed in Thomas were quite ridiculous until I found information on the internet about real railway incidents.

I also had something of a collection of Shining Time Station merchandise, but I don't really like that show, so what I still have I am planning on selling. I really, really hate Thomas and the Magic Railroad, though I did have a brief period of time when I was interested in the film.

I have mixed feelings about the change to CGI, though I never bashed HiT for the change and have encouraged others to except the change. I had been browsing the internet for sometime, searching for interesting Thomas information, when in early 2008, I decided I wanted to join the Sodor Island Forums. I was a member for about 2 weeks, logging on every moment I could and posting on alot of interesting threads. For whatever reason though, my account was disabled and I did not re-register since.

After being "exiled" from SiF, I decided that I wanted to join the Thomas and Friends Wiki, and a few days after registering, I made my first edit on here on the 2nd of July 2008. I am very proud to say that I have never spammed or vandalised any wiki or forum, and that my second account anywhere on the internet was on this very wiki.

Later, I made plans to make a new Thomas forum with another Wikia member, which we did. But I later suspected that he was into some bad stuff and I left the forum, which soon went defunct. After all of that, I went on to work harder on the Thomas Wiki. I got an offer of adminship from Wikia staff, but didn't recieve adminship as quickly as I'd have liked because there were other candidates as well. The Wiki also suffered from loads of vandalism.

During that time in which I was working on this wiki, I was constantly searching the web for info on Season 12 of Thomas and Friends. When episodes started turning up on YouTube, as well as other spoilers and news, I created the Season 12 Club - a sort of wiki project for members interested in the latest season. I have since renamed the club as the Season 13 Club and plan on renaming it again after this season.

After making many friends, and maybe even gaining some fans of my own, I decided to start my own Thomas forum. The forum was a huge success, and now after a year, has 45 members. It also has 855 posts, and that is with my pruning the threads every month or so. This forum is the NEW Tugboats and Thomas Forums. (Blog and YouTube info goes here).

Over time, I developed the Season 12/13 Club navigation box, which can be seen below. For a good while I would write everybody in the club on their talk pages as soon as news was found about new characters and episodes, but I haven't done that in months. I do plan on reviving that "tradition." Soon, hopefully.

I also edit on many other wikis, starting with the TUGS wiki on the 7th of July, 2008. I have even managed to get Wikia spotlights for several wikis, including this one, Pigeon Wiki, Jurassic Park Wiki, Theodore Tugboat Wiki, Left Behind Wiki, Primeval Wiki and one upcoming on the TUGS Wiki. Thank you to everyone who helped with the wikis to get them spotlighted, I couldn't have done it myself.

As of November 2009, most of my Wikia editing efforts will be concentrated on the Thomas Wiki again.
