“Bust my buffers!”
― Sir Handel

Sir Handel in Charge is the twenty-fifth episode of the eleventh series.

Plot

Sir Handel is given the job of overseeing an important special while the Thin Controller is at a meeting with the Fat Controller; he needs to have workmen picked up and taken to the forest to have trucks filled up with logs, then deliver the heavy train back to the Transfer Yards where Thomas will collect it. The Thin Controller tells Sir Handel to ask the first engines he sees to do the special, but Sir Handel is daydreaming about being in charge for the day to listen.

Sir Handel tells Mighty Mac, Rusty, Duncan and Peter Sam about his special and needs engines to help out with it. They all tell him that they can help, but Sir Handel tells them to wait because he is still excited about telling them what to do to listen. He soon arrives to find Thomas who questions him about the special which makes Sir Handel realise that he has got nothing done and works to set it all right by telling the engines what he needs them to do. They all help him out and it is all ready by the time the Thin Controller returns onboard James. While the Thin Controller congratulates him, Sir Handel is all the more wiser for getting help from the other engines.
