The Brickworks was an old industrial area with abandoned warehouses located on the southeastern side of the town of Cronk on the Killdane Branch Line. The Sodor Construction Company were tasked with demolishing the various buildings around the large site. Oliver the Excavator was assigned to demolish a building using his scissor claw, but Alfie stopped him when he heard meowing coming from inside. A stray mother cat and her litter of kittens were inside, and Alfie went in and rescued them from the collapsing wall. Oliver was later assigned to demolish the main building with a wrecking ball, but the walls were so sturdy that it did not get knocked over until Ned accidentally backed up and collided with the main chimney, causing it to fall onto the building.
