Trivia

  • Thomas (released in 1998) marked the first of few things:
    • The world's first N-scale Thomas.[1]
    • The first time a flywheel was mounted on a Tomix N-scale model.[2]
  • Thomas and James' chassis have changed from the original Pick-up style chassis to a Split-Chassis Design, which improved performance and reliability.[3]
  • Percy was the only engine to come with alternative faces. When his model was re-released in 2017, no alternative faces were included.
  • Henry lacks his eccentric rods.
  • A model of Gordon was planned but was cancelled. Despite this, the product announcement was published in the Tomix catalogue from 2001 to 2013.
  • In the 2016 re-releases, the engines' faces were updated to resemble the CGI Series.
  • In the 2016 and 2017 re-releases, Annie, Clarabel and the Troublesome Trucks do not have CGI faces.
