“Thomas? Spencer? Where's Geoffrey?”
― The Fat Controller

Who's Geoffrey? is a magazine story, illustrated using images from the CGI television series.

Plot

One morning, Thomas is running late. He puffs into Brendam Docks and collides with some trucks. Crates of bouncy balls break open and bounce all over the dockyard. Cranky demands to know who caused the accident and Thomas insists it was not him, it was Geoffrey. Nobody has heard of an engine named Geoffrey, but that is because Thomas has made him up so he does not get into trouble.

News travelled fast and soon everyone is asking after Geoffrey. Thomas tells Salty that Geoffrey is a steam engine and he tells Porter that Geoffrey is very big. Victor asks what colour the mysterious engine is and Thomas tells him that Geoffrey is red. Thomas' lie is getting bigger and bigger.

The Fat Controller wants to meet Geoffrey. Thomas tells him that he is very shy and is hiding in Henry's Tunnel. The Fat Controller hops into Percy to travel to the tunnel. Thomas is worried and races ahead to get there first.

Inside the tunnel, Thomas puts on a silly voice and pretends he is Geoffrey to fool the Fat Controller. Just then, Spencer steams up behind Thomas who has to come out of the tunnel to give Spencer time to slow to a stop. The Fat Controller is confused and Thomas has to come clean. Thomas tells the Fat Controller that he made Geoffrey up so he did not have to take the blame for the accident he caused at the docks. The Fat Controller reminds Thomas that it is always better to tell the truth. Thomas apologises and steams away, colliding with some more trucks. This time, Thomas wastes no time in owning up to his actions.
